He explains that the monks in the monastery believe in life, and in the mastery of life. They do not believe in Gods and so do not believe that Ishtar is a God.
He says that he can teach the player about life in exchange for a golden statue of Kir.

Quest Objectives
To complete this quest, the player must:
- Acquire 10,000 ounces of salt, trade it for a golden statue of Kir and give it to Kir Garan.

There are various methods for earning salt, such as exchanging wolf pelts for it or gambling, but the most efficient method is from mining it in the salt mines.
Once you have acquired to 10,000 ounces of salt you need to find Lorkan to exchange it for the golden statue. Lorkan can be found a little south-east of the Nomad Plains teleport at position (52,148).
